Removing Barriers between IT and the Business for Improved Delivery Success:
Successfully deploying business initiatives requires tight integration between IT and the business. Current silo-models for IT significantly contribute to project failure rates – estimated anywhere from forty to seventy percent. Elimination of the silos and integration between IT and the business is critical in improving these success rates. Moreover, the CIO's future likely depends upon initiative success.  Dismantling barriers between IT and the business is the single most beneficial action a CIO can take. Such dismantling is actually a process involving the acquisition of  trust, the education of IT and business teams, and the changing of organizational culture.  This presentation covers the steps to move an IT organization closer to the business and improving initiative success rates. The following topics are covered:

The concept and responsibilities of a "Guidance Team."
The involvement of delivery knowledgeable personnel in the business' project inception.
The attainment, maintenance, and quantification of stakeholder expectation alignment--from inception through delivery.
Simple "tricks" for improving communication between the project team and the business.
The effects of utilizing the Guidance Team methodology on the relationship between IT and the business and all relevant stakeholders.

Chances for initiative success greatly improve by creating and maintaining alignment at a point long before a project starts. At the end of this presentation, attendees will understand:

The benefits of and methods for fostering early stakeholder involvement.
The integration of IT and business teams.
The methodology to measure and maintain alignment.

In this session attendees will hear about:

The benefits of removing barriers between IT and the business.
How to develop a migration methodology for changing the IT/business relationship.
Tools to attain, maintain, and quantify stakeholder alignment.

Specific presentation date and time to be updated soon.
