About our Session: Organization Change Management - What Would You Do?
"Our Changes just don't stick!" That is the cry of too many executives exasperated by the waste of resources trying to get people in their organization to adopt new processes. A major portion of the reason is the lack of an organization change management (OCM) mentality in the organization. This is no more apparent than in the method in which initiatives and their constituent projects are executed. Lack of end-user involvement and adoption accountability are at the core of this failure.
In this roundtable-style presentation, which we refer to as a "present-table," the presenter acts as a facilitator posing five to seven actual situations, ranging from what OCM is to who should be accountable, for the audience to discuss and debate. The facilitator will capture the proposed solutions and facilitate testing them through audience debate and the presenter's own experience. The goal of the presentation is to surface many of the root-cause issues with OCM and letting the audience engage with each other and the presenter to develop a solution. The audience learns through interaction and the five to seven key learning points.
- What is change management is and how it differs from change order processing.
- When OCM process need to start.
- Who is responsible for OCM.
- Who is accountable for OCM.
- The project manager's responsibility in adoption.
- Tracking progress toward proper adoption.
- What are the KPIs for adoption.
In this presentation, the case studies will be replayed and the audience will be given between five and ten minutes to discuss each point and come to a conclusion on what they would have done differently to change the outcome of the situation. This novel format provides valuable insight by hearing dozens of people's views on how to approach each decision, and engaging everyone in the debate.

About our presentation: People or Process: Which Has the Greater Effect on Project Success
People or Process, as the name implies, looks directly at the role of people versus process in a project's success or failure. Process is a needed component of any project, but does not obviate the need to work with people. A project manager's ability to not only manage, but lead and inspire is often the dividing line between an initiative's success and failure. Unfortunately, the trend over the last fifteen years has been to focus on process and reduce project management to a checklist of tasks. This has created a culture that diminishes the value of a project manager with people skills.
By the end of this presentation, attendees will understand the importance of balancing people and process, where to focus their efforts, and tips on inspiring people to excel at their jobs.

Leaders define vision. Business turns vision into value. It still takes a team of executives, stakeholders, project managers, and individual contributors to drive the projects that build the capabilities transforming businesses. Ergo, projects are the enablers for turning vision into value. Too often, however, project managers and their stakeholders lack the visibility into how their project’s fit into the business’ grand vision. Think how wonderfully your business would run if everyone from the C-Suite to the feet on the street understood how to maintain focus on executing business strategies.
This workshop will help leaders:
• Understand what is valuable for your organization.
• Improve communication.
• Focus their energies and your resources on corporate goals.
Organizations the world over use balanced scorecard to define their strategic goals. However, balanced scorecard only works if its information is disseminated throughout the organization. This workshop helps, executive sponsors, PMO managers, project managers, and project teams understand why and how a strategy is defined, the use of activity and strategy maps, and how they apply to the organization’s projects.
This short two-hour session will give you:
• A basic understanding of Balanced Scorecard.
• The meaning and usefulness of balanced scorecard.
• An understanding the three types of projects—strategic, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• The key attributes to look for on a project to ensure it is aligned with the corporate strategy.
